Kamakura Great Buddha
Love it - thanks so much!
These pics are incredible. Such a place of beauty and spirituality.
Thank You.
Thanks, but they pale in comparison to seeing it with your own eyes.
Oh I realize that for sure. But since I'll never get to Japan, Japan comes to me through your photography and story telling.
Once again, Thank You.
Thanks again.
Japan has lots to offer for the tourist.
A magnificent sight!
Looks like the shrine used to be barely there in the old times. Could almost imagine just happening upon this statue while going for a walk in the woods back then.
Originally, it had an enclosure much like the one in Nara but it was burnt down in a Typhoon hundred of years ago. There is a wall around it now.
1992 was my first time there too. I went with my parents who visited me while I worked in Tokyo then.
That is a bit surprising, the same year.
Dear gentlemen, this is so extra-awesome, thanks so much for doing this! I'm greatly enjoying this!
No worries.
We visited Japan before returning to UK after 2+ years of living in Hong Kong. The Buddha was one of the places of interest on our visit.
